We are seeking to appoint a Specialist Teacher to teach full time from September 2024 on a fixed term contract. This role is specialist as you would be leading a small class of 6-8 children of mixed age (Y3-Y6) who are having their specific needs met in a specialist way: in a low demand environment with high staff ratio and bespoke curriculums and daily plans, encompassing experiences that support them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. We have successfully been offering this provision since January 2024 and wish to continue this offer into academic year 24/25.
The successful candidate will be committed to Gloucester Road’s aims, vision and values. In addition fulfilling the person specification, they will;
• Have creative ideas to plan and deliver engaging learning within our bespoke EARLY and DEEP curriculum.
• Support relational practice and strive to develop respectful relationships with all stakeholders.
• Be astute at planning and delivering a specialist teaching programme that ensures our pupils received the highest quality teaching.
• Have an astute ability to adapt to the individual needs of all pupils.
• Have experience and knowledge of teaching and working with children who have SEN.
• Be compassionate and consistent with pupils to enable them to regulate and access their education successfully.
We can offer you;
• A commitment to staff well-being in line with our well-being pledge.
• A Leadership Team and Governors who are united in a shared vision of improvement.
• A Staff Team who are passionate, friendly and inclusive.
• A commitment to individualised continual professional development.
We are a small primary school situated in the heart of Cheltenham with 208 pupils on roll. There is a strong, caring ethos between both staff and pupils and the school has a strong 'family' feel. Our children are polite, caring and happy. Our staff are friendly, hardworking and dedicated, as are our supportive parents and governors.
You will be challenged but well rewarded.
