TitleCooperative Women’s Guild
DescriptionThe Cooperative Women’s Guild was founded in 1883 (originally as the Cooperative Women's League) to educate women in the principles and practices of Co-operation and to work for the improvement of the status of women. It is an auxiliary of the Cooperative Movement. The records sometimes refer to the organisation as the "Women's Cooperative Guild" but the current version of the name has been used throughout the catalogue D2754. The Guild branches were closely associated with their local Cooperative Society, and references to the Guilds are found in the minutes of the Cooperative Societies (see D2754/1-7)
