Are you an enthusiastic, fun and caring Teaching Assistant?
Withington C of E Primary School is a small rural primary school with high expectations for all of our pupils. We are looking to expand our team and appoint two NVQ Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistants. The roles we have available are:
Teaching assistant – 15hrs per week 9:00am – 12:00pm (5 days) plus an additional 2.5hrs a week Midday Supervisor (Grade D) 12:00 – 12:30pm (5 days). Permanent - subject to 6 months probation period.
SEN Teaching assistant (1:1 EHCP support in the classroom and lunchtime supervision) – 30hrs per week (8:45am-3:15pm) – this post is temporary and the funding is linked to the pupil. The post would cease if the pupil left or funding was withdrawn. Subject to 6 months probation period.
The Teaching Assistant salary will be Grade F for a candidate with the relevant qualifications and experience. Unqualified candidates (with some experience) who are willing to train will be considered, but their salary would start at Grade D.
The Successful candidates will:
• be capable of running intervention activities for individuals or small groups of children
• be able to work within the recommendations of EHCPs or My Plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDco
• have excellent knowledge and understanding of quality provision
• be a good communicator, organised and flexible
• have a calm demeanour
• be enthusiastic and dedicated
• have a good standard of English and Maths to GCSE or equivalent.
In addition to this the SEN Teaching Assistant will:
• be experienced in working with children with Special Educational Needs/Disabilities and managing challenging behaviour, in particular working with children with communication and interaction difficulties
• have experience with or knowledge of the EYFS.
