Admin History | The Widden Street schools were erected in 1878 by the Gloucester School Board, and enlarged to accommodate 843 pupils in 1892. Originally organized as Boys, Girls and Infants schools, the Boys and Girls schools were merged as a Junior Mixed department by the City Education Committee in 1931. The arrangement as Junior and Infants schools continued until 1985, when the two departments were merged to form Widen County Primary School, and accommodated in purpose-built premises opened by H.M. The Queen in 1986. |
