NotesIn 1979 Dr C D Shaw, Senior Registrar in Community Medicine for the Gloucestershire Area Health Authority noticed that there had been a sudden rise in stillbirths in the Severn Corridor in 1972. The figure stayed at the higher level in succeeding years. These files show the research undertaken to try and establish whether there were any environmental factors responsible for the anomaly. Those files which contain no personal information are available to researchers immediately
