D3489/6-22 contain material relating mainly to Rev J W Rowbotham, the father of F W Rowbotham, and in particular to Eastington May Day Festivals. These were initiated by Rev J W Rowbotham in 1907 a year after he became headmaster of Eastington School. Rev J W Rowbotham retired from the school in 1938 but the May Day Festivals have continued to the present day
In addition there is a series of 9.5mm and 16mm cinefilms relating to Eastington, Stonehouse and Stroud which has been transferred to video. Searchers may have access to the video [see D3489/20]
